| Register early to avoid network congestion and biometric issues. |
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has started registration for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, Second Series. This is commonly known by many candidates as WAEC GCE.
In my years of advising students, I have seen many candidates use WAEC GCE as a second chance to improve their previous results, obtain required subjects, or meet admission requirements for higher institutions.
Interested candidates are advised to complete their registration early to avoid problems before the deadline. Here is everything you need to know about the registration process.
WAEC GCE 2026 Registration Closing Date
Candidates applying for the 2026 WAEC GCE Second Series should take note of these strict deadlines:
PIN Generation: The deadline to generate your registration PIN is Friday, August 14, 2026.
Registration & Biometrics: You must complete biometric capturing and online registration before 11:59 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
