Always use the official NECO portal to check your results.

The wait is finally over for thousands of Nigerian students. The 2026 NECO SSCE Internal result is officially out, and candidates who sat for the June/July examination can now check their grades online.

In my years of advising students, this is always the most anxious period. The results were released on September 24, 2026, with 804,948 candidates (58.67%) obtaining at least five credits including English Language and Mathematics.

To check your result, you need your registration number and a valid NECO result-checking token. Here is the step-by-step guide.

What You Need to Check Your NECO Result

Before you start, have these ready:

  • Your NECO registration number.

  • A valid NECO result-checking token (scratch card).

  • A phone, tablet, or computer with a stable internet connection.

How to Check 2026 NECO SSCE Result Online

Step 1: Visit the Official Portal

Go to the official NECO result-checking website: results.neco.gov.ng.

(Warning: Avoid unofficial websites or links sent via WhatsApp that ask for your details or payment).

Step 2: Select Examination Year and Type

On the portal, select 2026 as the examination year, and choose SSCE Internal as the examination type. Make sure you select the correct options, or your result will not display.

Step 3: Enter Your Token and Registration Number

Enter your result-checking token and your registration number carefully. Double-check every digit before submitting. A single mistake will result in an error.

Step 4: Click "Check Result"

Click the button to submit. If your details are correct and the portal is working normally, your result will appear instantly.

Step 5: Save Your Result

Review your grades carefully. Take a screenshot or print a copy for your records. If you need this result for university admission, you will eventually upload it to JAMB CAPS. (Read our Guide on Uploading O'Level Results to JAMB CAPS here).

What If My NECO Result is Not Showing?

If your result does not appear, do not immediately assume it has been withheld. Check the following:

  1. Did you select 2026 and SSCE Internal?

  2. Is your registration number correct?

  3. Is your token valid? (If it says invalid, the token may have been used or entered incorrectly).

  4. Is the portal experiencing heavy traffic?

If the website is slow or not opening, try another browser (like Chrome), switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or try again later. (Read our Guide on WAEC Result Not Showing here for more troubleshooting tips).

Checking vs. Verifying Your NECO Result

Checking your result on the portal is for your own viewing. However, if an institution (like a university or employer) asks for formal verification, you must use the NECO e-Verify Platform.

The e-Verify system allows you to generate an official verification report that can be sent directly to institutions.

2026 NECO Result Statistics

For context, here is the performance breakdown for the 2026 examination:

  • Total Candidates: 1,371,992

  • Candidates with 5 Credits (incl. English & Maths): 804,948 (58.67%)

NYSC Allawee: How to Survive in Your Posted State

A color-coded map of Nigeria showing the cost of living tiers for NYSC corps members: red for high, yellow for medium, and green for low. The moment of truth has arrived. You've opened the portal, and your NYSC call-up letter is staring back at you. For better or worse, your state of deployment is sealed. The excitement (or dread) is quickly followed by a very practical question: Can I actually survive on the federal allowance ("allawee") in this state? The reality is that the NYSC experience, and how far your money goes, varies drastically depending on where you are posted. The ₦33,000 federal allowance might feel comfortable in one state but will barely cover your rent in another. Having spoken with dozens of corps members who have served across different regions, I have seen first-hand how far proper financial planning can stretch that allowance. Understanding the cost of living is the key to planning your finances and making your service year a success. Here’s a pract...
